The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients.
The goal of the PALS Update course is to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and high-quality individual skills.
During the course students must pass a written exam and skills tests in order to receive an AHA PALS completion card. The completion card is valid for 2 years..
A pre-course Self Assessment with a minimum score of 70% is required for this course
In order to take this course you need to:
- Bring you completed pre-test and precourse work to class, if unable to print, you can print it in class.
- Bring a current copy of a PALS book or ebook to class. If not, a book will be provided in class if needed. If you are purchasing a book or eBook, then go to the following website PALS Provider Manual
